WHEN & WHERE & WHAT TIME IS THE LANTERN FESTIVAL?
The Lantern Festival will take place on the following dates:
- NOV 9TH - SYDNEY
- NOV 16TH - MELBOURNE
- NOV 23RD - BRISBANE
- NOV 30TH - PERTH
All events are from 6:30PM till 11:00PM. The lantern release is around 9PM. You will receive an email 2 weeks prior to the event date confirming the full schedule of the day.
WHAT IS THE LANTERN FESTIVAL?
The Lantern Festival offers a unique gathering for individuals from diverse backgrounds and beliefs to unite in a heartwarming, affirming, and memorable occasion! Many attendees find solace in the lantern release, using it as a means to honor cherished memories. Some inscribe their lanterns with aspirations for the future, while others use it as a symbolic gesture of releasing the past. We delight in witnessing the myriad of meanings this event holds for each participant.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE LANTERNS AFTER?
The prices includes the cost of collecting and removing all lanterns following the event as well as cleaning up any rubbish that may have been previously been in or around the area.
ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED TO ATTEND?
Certainly! Children are welcome to attend the event, and those under 5 years old can enter for free!
IS IT SAFE?
Absolutely! Safety is paramount in everything we do. While our custom lanterns are designed with utmost safety in mind, we go above and beyond by partnering with certified security professionals and medics. These experts offer invaluable insights into the unique characteristics of each region, allowing us to tailor fire action plans and provide on-site resources to address any situation effectively.

ARE THE LANTERNS ENVIRONMENT AND ANIMAL FRIENDLY? WHAT ARE THEY MADE OF?
Certainly! Our lanterns are not only incredibly safe but also environmentally friendly, being 100% biodegradable.
There are no flames involved to ensure your safety further.
DISABILITY ACCESS
Customers with disabilities are welcome to attend the event and are encouraged to bring a complimentary companion along with them. We strive to provide accessibility and inclusivity for all attendees. Please email our suppor team on contact@lanternfestival.au to register your ticket to our disability access list.
IS THE LANTERN FESTIVAL A SAFE AND FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENT?
Absolutely! Safety is our utmost priority, and we're pleased to report a flawless safety record throughout our numerous events held in multiple countries.
ALCOHOL
Alcohol is not permitted at the event.
WHAT TO BRING
Make your experience comfortable by bringing blankets. Please note food & drink is not permitted to be carried into the venue. We have plenty of food vendors to cater for all.
ANIMAL ATTENDEES
We love your pets! … but they’re not allowed at the event.
We do make exceptions for service animals. Keep in Mind that loud music and the possibility of fireworks may provide an uncomfortable atmosphere for your service animal. Please keep them on a leash.
REFUNDS & TRANSFERS
Due to the close nature of the event, all tickets are FINAL transactions and no refunds will be offered. Please check your availability and suitability before booking your ticket.

WHEN AND WHERE CAN I LAUNCH MY LANTERN?
For safety reasons, lanterns are strictly authorized to be launched only at the designated time and location within the venue.
Purchasing lanterns for use outside of the event venue is strictly prohibited. Participants found violating these rules may face prosecution by local authorities and law enforcement. We prioritise the safety of all attendees and adhere to these guidelines to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
WHAT IF THE EVENT IS POSTPONED?
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: Given that The Lantern Festival is an
outdoor event, we understand that inclement weather can sometimes occur.
Therefore, event dates and locations are subject to change. In the event of inclement weather leading to the cancellation of a Sunday event, the first available makeup date will typically be scheduled for the Sunday of
the next weekend. If Sunday isn't feasible, the second backup date will be arranged within 90 days of the original event date. Please note that refunds are not provided when weather conditions necessitate rescheduling or relocating
an event. Instead, your tickets will remain valid for the first available
makeup date that we organize. If a makeup date isn't scheduled within 90 days of the original event, refunds will be offered. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility regarding these circumstances.

Yes! All of our events sell out months prior to the event date so be sure to get your ticket today to be part of this magical event!
SUSTAINABILITY
All lanterns will be cleaned up after the event by our incredible staff.
We pick up any trash that may have been previously been in or around the area.
The lanterns are made from rice paper and wood so they are as eco-friendly as possible and we even reuse and recycle the LED candles.
